Admission and Financial Aid

Tujenge Scholars Program is an academically rigorous, intellectually galvanizing bridge program for young people with a connection to the Great Lakes region of Africa. Scholars are admitted to the 18-month program following their completion of secondary studies and use the program as a launching point for further university education. Each January, we welcome a new cohort of 25-30 inspiring new Tujenge Scholars, each with the dedication, passion, and curiosity to rethink the fundamental challenges facing their communities, their countries, and the African continent.

A detailed application process begins in August each year, with finalists selected in November and final selections for the program taking in place in December. Details about the application process can be found in the Apply section of the website.

In addition, the program follows a policy of meeting full demonstrated financial need for every admitted student, ensuring that the cost of the program is not a barrier for any scholar. Further information about Tujenge’s financial aid policy and program cost is available on the Tuition & Aid page.
